RE CAP: "Busted in Two Cities"

This show was a mega cool show! Amongst the many real developed artist, I was one of them. HONORED I was when Frankie Velez asked me almost a year ago to participate... I was like "YEA !..."

Unfortunate I have heard from him that one of his friends passed away. I was very sadden even when I never knew that guy, I did know that Frankie was a down to earth guy, who Loves art, and LOVES to work with other artist, and anyone so fortunate to know this guy, is some one mega special. In dedication of his passing, he was sole organizer of this event, and WOW, I am so proud of him, I am so proud of my Friend Frankie Velez!

The other good that came out of this positive motivated program was that my son has helped me developed this art work. He collect the dry paint, from all my paint tubes and gathered them for me. We layered the mannequin with a dark navy blue coat, to then add these dry paint gathering that my son picked up on to the piece.

*At the show in New York City, I was so excited, that I ran early to hang it up,(*long story). I was there and met up with many of my art friends. I wasnt able to stay long, but I left there feeling so glad to be apart of this mig art show! The Place was so packed when I left. Thank you Frankie !

RE CAP: Bondfire, January 26, 2010

January 26, 2010 Bondfire at the Bowery Poetry Club, was PACKED! I give so much credit to the Bondfire family for developing these open mics and concert series to Conscious and Tasty Keish for harnessing all the talents on stage and also allowing the visual arts a room to share the experience with them too.

Amongst many regulars that performed that awesome night, My Brothers keepers and Ray 6 & the Bubble girls. Amongst the Visual artist on the night, my brothers Tomas and Jorge, tag teamed with me on two canvas, then there was "Cern One", and next to him, was "Mistah Metro" and "HOST". We were so hooked by all their performers that night, that we so painted our asses off. As midnight hit, and Ray 6 finessed her Orgasmic performance, I then got myself dressed and ready to head out. I met up with Conscious and also said my good byes. I then saw a lady who was at the show earlier and asked me if the painting was for sale. I said " yeaaa". We exchanged info with painting and money. I looked at the money, and I returned back to Bowery and handed my earns from that painting sale to a young lady that was organizing this Benefit show.

There is so much reviews of this great event, in which you can read up on the artist of that night. One such reviews is: "Hip-Hop & Bullshit"their link:

February 19: Dj Ralph Mc Daniels (Video Music Box host), will be painting Live in his honor !

On this special occasion, Wes Jackson the president and executive director of Brooklyn Bodega and the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival respectively, along with a new generation of burgeoning Hip-Hop music talents will pay homage to Uncle Ralph, in celebration of his role as a music and television industry maverick and a Black History Maker.

ABOUT RALPH MCDANIELS - LIVING LEGEND

Long before television stations like MTV played music videos from Hip-Hop and Urban artists, Ralph McDaniels who was given the moniker Uncle Ralph by industry peer Kool DJ Red Alert, possessed enough wisdom and foresight to know that Hip-Hop would eventually surpass Rock 'n Roll to become the music that now represents America universally.

Over a quarter of a century ago, McDaniels created a one hour program called "Video Music Box" (VMB) to showcase musicians who told tales of inner-city life through their beats and rhymes. McDaniels' VMB has bolstered famous and almost famous Hip-Hop artists of the past present and future; in fact almost any Hip-Hop artist one can bring to mind, megastar or otherwise, made his/her debut on Uncle Ralph's VMB.

Amongst other accomplishments, McDaniels also produced videos for Public Enemy, the Notorious B.I.G, Big Daddy Kane, Nas, Wu-Tang Clan, and more.

The Initiative Radio event to salute Uncle Ralph McDaniels will include:

DJ SKNOW, DJ ERNIE B, & DJ GREGG STEEL on the 1s & 2s!

Re Cap: My solo art show " LAYERED "

A day that I so anticipated, had my heart beating very fast, and all along was sadden by the travasty that has occured a couple of days past of the Haiti earth quake, and the many who has lost their lives. Mixed feelings swerled my head and heart, as I entered Fresthetics. I felt it was nessary for me to utilized my solo art show, to channel the audience/viewers their energy and attention to Liz Whitney, a PR from YELE Haiti who works under Wyclef, to help me gather donations for the Haiti people in need.

(All donations will be gathered and transported to a LISTED donation location in Brooklyn, with the help of the Fresthetic galleria crew, if it wasnt for them in the begin with, I wouldnt had this chance to help out or showcase my works! Thanks Mike, thanks Randy!)

Footage below was taken by TASTY KEISH of the Bondfire family.
http://ow.ly/X8N5

I didnt want to start my solo show in a serious mode, but I felt it was right to only give credit and also the proper attention of the critical situation that has been on my heart and mind over Haiti. As soon as I saw the massive crowd settling in, I directed the Dj to lower the volume and requested Liz Whitney to stand near me to begin a brief insight and tips to help out in our ways where we can.

All the donations that was aquired by those that so happend to donate at my solo art show, will be collected and placed in one of these following places for a drop off. Thanks to Star mc Rae, and Liz Withney for extending their insights in this crutial moment of dispare in Haiti.
